The jet-black tom sideled down the sides of the valley, almost falling once or twice. When he got to the bottom he flopped onto the thick grass and began to wash. By having no friends to speak of, this is about all he could do for fun. But the secret he had to keep ...that awful secret was what kept him in his own solitude. Too afraid that he'd spill the secret, he tended to keep quiet, all alone in some dark corner, brooding in his unhappiness. Twilightpaw looked up at the darkening sky, his time would come soon. He would make friends, and something in the welcoming surroundings told him that. He didn't know if it was the sky, with all those happy flickering lights, or the way the slight summer breeze sighed over the land, but he just knew it was true. Some kind cat .. who could keep his secrets and much more would befriend him, his brooding days would soon be over.

Padding up behind the young, black apprentice, the calico she-cat sat down beside him and swiped one paw over her face. The silver flecks throughout her calcio pelt glowing in unision with the setting sun. "Hello Twilightpaw..' she said. "Are you alright? You seem...sad." she said quietly. She could tell something was bothering the young tom, but she wouldn't bother him about it if he didn't want to talk.
